YESSS Electrical Appoints Agencies To Manage Comms During Rapid Expansion

Following a competitive three-way pitch, one of the UK’s fastest-growing companies, YESSS Electrical, has appointed two agencies to oversee PR and social media in the UK.

The electrical wholesaler, which launched in 2012 and opened 85 branches in just 12 months, creating 800 jobs and achieving turnover of more than £100million, has appointed The Right Agency and Umpf, both Leeds-based agencies.

The agencies have been drafted in to work with the wholesaler’s in-house marketing team on a range of communications activity – The Right Agency will be responsible for trade PR and the company’s customer magazine YESSS Expresss, while Umpf will work on consumer PR and social media.

Andy Singleton, Director and General Manager of YESSS, said: “There are very few businesses globally, let alone in the UK, which have experienced such rapid growth as ours. To open more than 80 outlets and hit £100 million turnover has been a huge undertaking, and this is just phase one.

“The appointment of The Right Agency and Umpf will help us proactively develop the brand nationally and support our internal team as we manage our growth and start phase two of the YESSS story.”

Eloise Garrett, co-founder and director at The Right Agency, said: “YESSS is challenging the traditional wholesale model and doing things differently. They’ve achieved unprecedented growth in a short period of time, so we are really looking forward to telling their story.”
Umpf MD and founder Adrian Johnson, said: “The company is unique in the sector in that it’s both an electrical wholesaler for trade buyers and a retail outlet for the public. This, alongside its new online shop, means that there’s a consumer story to tell. We are looking forward to supporting the team as they continue their UK expansion.”
